“Skins for Undomesticated Thoughts”, is a collection that draws inspiration from women writers who, until recently, were marginalized within the male-dominated Latin American literary Boom of the 1970s early ’80s. A movement in constant dialogue with Europe. The garments explore the complex layers of their identities, a space where aesthetic dualities meet: where intellectual rigor softens into vulnerability, and the eroticism of liberated bodies begins to emerge.

Leather and iraca palm, materials from contrasting geographies, are brought together to reflect the tension between sensitivity and intellect that these women embodied. The silhouettes shift between sharp lines and soft curves, at times clinging to the body and at others drifting away from it. They’re embellished with rich, baroque textures and grounded by the rawness of leather. Bare legs, sculpted busts and curves, nuances that evoke the intimate world of underwear. Powerful silhouettes with massive shoulders, subversive leather skins. It is a statement of full presence for the wearer, reinforcing the idea: “I am here. I am seen. I am vast.

This collection was created in collaboration with Marelys Escalante, master weaver and leading expert in iraca palm craftsmanship from the artisan community of Usiacurí, Colombia. This dual methodology is an artistic expression shaped by four hands and two minds, working together to honor the duality that flows throughout the collection.
